Roger Jardine

Qualifications:

After graduating from Wayne State University in 1991, Roger assumed the role of co-ordinator for the ANC's desk of Science and Technology. In 1995 he joined the Department of Science and Technology as director general, a role he fulfilled for five years. 

Roger joined Kagiso Media in 1999 as chief executive officer. In November 2006 he became chief operating officer of Kagiso Trust Investments.

Roger is a non-executive director of First Rand Bank and also served as chairman of the CSIR and the Nuclear Energy Corporation of South Africa (NECSA) for six years.

 
 

Grahame McCaig

Qualifications:

Grahame obtained a B.Sc. Civil Engineering degree from the University of Cape Town in 1985. He acquired a Professional Engineers Registration in 1993.
He joined the Group in August 2011 as Managing Director.

During his career Grahame has held the following positions:
In April to 2002 Grahame worked for Dutco Balfour Beatty L.L.C. as General Manager.
In January 2002 he joined Dutco Construction Company L.L.C. as General Manager.

In 1998 Grahame joined AsiaBuild Limited and Entasis Limited as Director and General Manager.
In November 1995 he was promoted to General Manager at Khansaheb Civil Engineering L.L.C.
In January 1995 Grahame joined Khansaheb Civil Engineering L.L.C. as Assistant General Manager.
In 1993 he worked for Grinaker Building Cape (Pty) Ltd as Area Contracts Manager.
In 1991 he was employed as Project Manager for Dura Construction Co. Ltd and it was a subsidiary of Grinaker Construction Limited.

 
 

Piet Badenhorst

Piet obtained his National Diploma in Marketing from UNISA in 1995.

Piet started his career with ISCOR (Acelor Mittal) in Vanderbijlpark in 1983 as an Industrial Instrumentation Mechanician. He joined Aveng Grinaker-LTA in 1987 as part of the Automation and Control Solutions Division.

Having held various positions in the Automation and Control Solutions Division, including that of Managing Director since 2007, Piet was appointed as Managing Director of the Mechanical and Electrical Business Unit in 2011. Piet also serves on the board of KNM Grinaker-LTA, a joint venture company of Aveng (Africa) Ltd and KNM International, as a Director.

 
 

Louis Germishuys

Qualifications:

Louis obtained his B.Eng (Mining) degree from the University of Pretoria in 1986 and his MBA from the same university in 1990.

His career started as an Engineer in Training with Impala Platinum, in 1990, Louis joined Shaft Sinkers and he left the company in 2008 as Deputy Managing Director. He then joined Aveng Grinaker-LTA Mining in 2009 as Executive Director and was appointed to his current position of Managing Director Aveng Grinaker-LTA Africa International in 2011.
 

 
 

Martin Hobbs

Qualifications:

Martin obtained his BSc Mech Eng degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1981. In 1990 he obtained his BCom degree from UNISA.

In 1982 Martin joined Anglo American as Junior Engineer at Saaiplaas Gold Mine. He joined Standard Brass Iron and Steel Foundries as Production Manager in 1986. 
Martin joined Aveng Grinaker Construction Limited as Regional Manager Plant in 1988 and has held the positions of Engineering Manager and Mining Engineering Director within Aveng Grinaker-LTA.
Martin was appointed Managing Director of Aveng Grinaker-LTA Mining In March 2010.

 
 

Pheli Mbambo

Qualifications:

Pheli obtained her BA Social Work Honours (UNIZUL) in 1987. She also holds a Labour Law Diploma, GIMT.

During her career, Pheli has held several senior management roles at Spoornet, MB Glass (Nampak Division), Nampak Tissue (Pty) Ltd, Transnet Projects (Previously Protekon PTY Ltd), Aveng Grinaker-LTA BU Director (Earthworks Engineering), and at present Human Resource Executive within Aveng Grinaker-LTA.

In her career a few highlights include achieving wage exemption for 2000 and 2001 years. Closing a plant successfully without any CCMA issues. Implemented Graduate Development Programme 2006.

Introduced higher qualification requirements for operators. Successfully converted contracts of employment to TCC within short space of time. Changed the Executive outlook of EE (Diversity). Implemented the school of Earthworks Engineering. Pheli has also progressively reduced our entropy score.
 

 
 

Molefe Mokgatle

Molefe Mokgatle has, over the past 25 years, held various senior managerial and executive positions at Nedbank Ltd, SABMiller, Sowetan Newspaper, SABC TV (where he became Chief Executive - TV), Chief Executive of Afrilink Investcorp, AfriSam as Chief Commercial Executive and presently Executive Director and board member at Aveng Grinaker-LTA. 

Molefe has addressed various local and international Conferences on Media, Marketing, Supply Chain and Governance, but notably, United Nations Media Forum (New York) in 1998 and 1999. He was nominated International Man of the Year twice (1982 and 1983) by the Cambridge Bibliographical Centre (England), and also selected as Newsmaker among South Africa’s 100 Leaders (TV Category) by the Star newspaper in 1996.

He is a Certified Director (IOD), a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketers (UK), Fellow of the Institute of Directors (UK) and Fellow of the Institute of Directors (SA).

 

 
 

Andrew Owens

Qualifications:

Andrew studied Construction Management at the Witwatersrand Technikon (now Johannesburg University ) as a Group bursar. He completed his studies in 1989.

Andrew has worked on many projects across Southern Africa in various levels of site management. Andrew was steadily promoted and after completing the ABB Office project (1998) Sandton Convention Centre (2000), Witbank Casino and Emnotweni Sun Hotel (2002) as Senior Contract Manager he was promoted to the position of Contract Director.

Andrew has managed many projects in that role including the 120,000m2 Fairlands Office Project. He has successfully completed two senior management development programmes and a number of courses. He spent most of 2008 working in Australia and in 2009 was appointed to the position of Divisional Managing Director Aveng Grinaker-LTA Building Inland.
In April 2011 he was appointed Managing Director for Aveng Grinaker-LTA Building.

Wessel van Zyl

Qualifications:

Wessel obtained his Bachelor of Accounting Science degree in 1987 and in 1990 completed his Bachelor of Accounting Science post graduate degree. After sitting for the Public Accountants and Auditors Board exam in 1991, Wessel joined SARS as Supervisor - Tax Research. In 1993 Wessel joined North West Star as Manager Internal Audit and Financial Controller.

Wessel joined Aveng Grinaker-LTA as Internal Audit Manager in 1997 and was appointed Tax Manager in July 2000 when Aveng Grinaker and LTA merged. In July 2005 Wessel was appointed General Manager Shared Services Centre of Aveng (Africa) Limited. In July 2009 Wessel was appointed Financial Director of Aveng Grinaker-LTA.
